Ok- so Maybe I am Overly Cautious...maybe....

Ok- let me start out with saying that while I do not see any fleas... My male dog is tearing out all his fur with itching. He has Frontline Plus on. So-- I called my friend J who is part of Animal Wellness she reccomended this flea inhibitor.. supposed to be safer for all.
You have a tiny bottle and you mix in with a gallon of water. Easy. I went to the store and bought a 1 gallon pressure sprayer. Putting it together-- well- I had to call my dad and ask a girly question-- it said to lubricate the seal-- with what?  Olive oil? it didn't say... I had no idea.. so he said to use vasaline. fine. I played with my put together sprayer in the driveway to see how it sprayed. Ok- I am ready to go.

At this point I read the directions to the flea stuff. Things like don't breathe it. Don't let it touch your skin etc, etc. Enough to scare you (Me) silly.

I have to say today was 70 degrees out. I was wearing jeans and was comfortable. So- to get ready for the spray. I got my farm boots out- they go to my knees. I decided that I needed long sleeves on in case the spray blew onto my arms? I thought- I would use my sweatshirt jacket since I don't really like it anyway and if the flea stuff gets on it- I could toss it and not care. I zippered myself into it. (remember it is warm out today)... I had my rubber gloves on, I put my hair into a shower cap- Not sure why really. Then I thought- well I will put up the hood on the jacket-over the shower cap. (stupid) My jeans were tucked into my boots. Then I got a face mask- the kind you use for sanding- ( I don't want to breathe the stuff). AND I got my DH's safety glasses. OK-
I am ready. I filled my pressure sprayer with water and put in the stuff. BUT__ Now I am so fogged up I can't see a darn thing! And I am roasting! I don't dare touch my glasses with  my rubber gloves- because now I can't be sure which hand I used to open the bottle of stuff and remove the foil seal. Using my arm- I pushed the glasses down a little and now I can sorta see. I am really hot now... But I sprayed and went all over my bedroom with it. I wasn't too sure how much I was spraying-since the safety glasses were bifocal ones! Who knew? I was blind as a bat with them!
But I got it done and back into my sneaks and downstairs where I left the rubber gloves and sprayer on the front porch. ( I still have to spray the livingroom). And where do I store it? Not in the house for sure.
Then I thought- what if some of the spray landed on my jeans? So I took them off and put them into the washer. Then I realized that I had NO clean clothes downstairs and they were in my bedroom- where I had just sprayed the flea stuff. Nice. So here I am pawing through the flea ladened bedding and found my dirty gym shorts.
SO... I left my windows open and all is dry now. Hopefully the dogs sleep soundly tonight.

AND then meanwhile I call my friend J to tell her my tale... and she tells me that she just sprayed the flea stuff herself just yesterday. Know what she wears to spray?? Jeans and a Tshirt and her regular shoes. No rubber gloves or face mask or long sleeves. She keeps the spray in a cupboard!

Did I over react? Maybe. Maybe I should not read the instructions next time. When I spray the living room I will still do the rubber gloves and maybe the face mask. But skip the glasses and the shower cap. But I think I will keep on the boots... and maybe a long sleeve shirt instead of a jacket!

LOL...
