Then I take Riley out-- well- the boy howls right back to them! He is probably inviting them over to play! They are cousins after all.
We had the windows open all night and I heard them all night.
I hope the donkeys were not afraid. Apparently coyotes/wolves/dogs are a donkeys worst enemy. My dogs don't know the donkeys and the donkeys don't know the dogs- there is no point in upsetting either one. The donkeys are safe in the barn at night.
But we can't find one of the calves. None of the mothers were upset- generally they are beside themselves if one of their babies are missing. We hope it was just laying in the tall grass and we didn't see it. We will do a better head count tomorrow. It would be very bad if a coyote got it last night.
I came over to visit because you left a comment that you had donkeys. I have some miniature donkeys, just two of them. I was also interested in your talking about cuyotes because I think we might have them here too. We hear something that sounds a little like dogs barking but it is different.
ReplyDeleteWE seem to have a lot in common. I have Breast Cancer too. I am hoping it doesn't come back. Hope you are good by now.
Hello, dear friend,
ReplyDeleteYour dogs are absolutely beautiful!! I used to hear coyotes when I spent the night with my cousins who lived on a farm in southeastern NM. I hope the little donkey is safe!! Thank you so much for coming by for a visit. I am so glad to have met you. Have a happy, happy week! Vicki
