Someone asked about Brewer's Yeast...
I do know that Brewer's Yeast makes your skin taste bad and keeps mosquitoes away from humans and fleas away from dogs and cats. In the spring my husband starts taking Brewer's Yeast daily and it helps to keep the bugs away from him as he is checking fences in the woods.
My girl cats are elderly and I don't give them flea meds due to their age. I give them Brewer's Yeast instead. With Cleeker- she gets it ground up in her food since she does not have a lot of teeth. They do like the taste of it. ( I have never had a cat or dog that did not like the taste of it).
You can buy it here at a health food store or a lot of grocery stores and even Walmart. My husband and cats get 1 pill a day. But I believe- you have to check your bottle- humans can have 6 pills a day. I have no problem giving that amount to my large dogs. 1 pill a day seems to work well for us humans to take. While my pets like the taste- I do not.
I know so little about donkeys but what an interesting post this is and I'm all ready to learn. Love your pictures of Baby Morgan and Lilliebean, - they look so quizzical.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. I will get some and start feeding it to my cats - Lucky is pretty geriatric now. Mind you, feel shattered, so it will be one pill for her and a few for me I think!

Hello! What a great blog. I will have to start giving my animals some brewers yeast. I had a little old poodle who could not use any flea or tick prevention, I wish I knew of this before. Your donkey's are so cute!!
