Morgan is ONE today!

So today Miss Morgan is 1... all is well. She didn't even care. I did buy her a Horse Ball to play with, Pink of course. I owe her a Pink/Purple Halter. ( we mangled her blue one so much and it doesn't really fit her). And the Donkeys are afraid of the Ball... I left it with them-- so I should go check to make sure no one had a heart attack or the ball didn't attack them! ( The yearling cows were also just watching it to make sure it didn't move).
This is The Ball and their usual Carrot.

Can't  you just hear them? No-- you touch it!
Murphy the Brave... you have to know he will jump a mile if it moves!

Sneaking up on it...Lillie in the backround could care less.

You touched it before... You can touch it again! Maybe if we go together....

Will keep you posted on the status of  the ball... Horse people assure me that once they are used to it.. they will kick it and toss it in the air and play...(fingers crossed).

    Happy Birthday Morgan! She is darling. All your donkeys are adorable. Loved the apology.

    Our Gus turned one last month and little Gnat will be one next week - and the vet is coming on the 31st! :)

    A while back you'd left a comment on my blog asking about what we give our donkeys for treats. We feed them cattle cubes, also called range cubes that we buy in 50 pound bags (under $8) from the feed store.

    We get the all natural (no urea) version that's 20% protein. They're big pellets that the donkeys love and are easy to feed out of hand if you want to.

    As for the pretty new ball, I hope they use it! We bought our donkeys an apple scented one last year - after I saw photos on another blog of donkeys who LOVED theirs - and nobody has even touched it.

    I was so disappointed. At somebody else's suggestion, we even hung it by a rope on a tree limb but there were no takers. Apparently our donkeys aren't bored enough to play with it, LOL. :)

    Does it dispense treats? My beautiful Arabian lad had a kick-ball that dispensed pony-nuts or bits of chopped apple or carrot. He got VERY enthusiastic with it!

    LOVE their expressions - you'd think it was going to murder them!
